SYDNIE GROSBERG RONGA directed the NYC premiers of World of Sinatras and Exquisite Potential for the Project Rushmore Theatre Company, NYC. She is part of their artistic advisory board, directs many readings for the company and last year directed Valhalla in their premier season. Sydnie has adapted and directed most of Gotham Radio Theatre’s productions over the last five years including their collaborations with Lincoln Center Library. Sydnie is a co-founder of Max & Louie Productions, and last fall directed the US premier of Chancers for them. She directed their critically acclaimed productions of The Violet Hour, It Had to Be You and The Lady With All the Answers.
As Associate Artistic Director of The Phoenix Theatre Company, she directed Boy Meets Girl, Alone At The Beach, and The Nerd. Ms. Grosberg Ronga directed Branislav Tomich’s one-man plays; Blue Lanterns which had a highly successful run in New York in the Fall ’09, and Café God which played in NYC, St. Louis and won a Drama-Logue Award in Los Angeles. She has also worked with Manhattan Class Company and The Women’s Project. Sydnie is looking forward to a return to St. Louis next fall to direct Bad Jews for the New Jewish Theatre.
As an Arts Educator, Sydnie works with students of all ages, directing shows from elementary school to college and designing theatre curriculum for in-school and after-school programs. An acting teacher and coach, Sydnie was born in St. Louis. She is a graduate of Webster University.
